Progress!

Made good progress the past couple days.

Solved some tech issues, and now have made some proof of concept tests faster than I had anticipated. Yay! On the conceptual side, I still have some issues with more complex presentation geometry. I need to wrap my head around that and start hitting the forums.

Am planning to meet with my Muse (couldn’t resist capitalizing!) for some coffee soon and catch up. I think I’m going to pitch a proposal that I’ve been sitting on, now that I have proof of concept to back up my ideas.

I tells ya, it’s still weird being driven by an idea like this. I figure I’m kinda 30% of where I want this to be, and if I can solve some of the setup stuff, only the 3D aspects and hardware will hold me back.

In the meantime, I’m gonna crash, rest my brain before I tackle some sketchwork and letting images invade my head tomorrow.

Happy Day

Yup, it’s working! Did the first proof of concept shot over the weekend.

It’s weird; it’s almost anti-climatic. I have pushed hard to get this working, figuring out details and issues for the past six or seven weeks now, but yes, it works!

I think what I’m realizing is that yes, it’s real, and now there is nothing stopping me from making this happen… except me. Thankfully I have about a month or so where I can focus on this without distraction, so I now can get into the conceptual framework of the whole presentation and design.

I need to get a hold of some people again, and I need to figure out who I can turn to for some 3D help. It’s kinda unnerving that it actually is coming together! Gotta keep focused, and make sure I don’t miss any obvious issues as I move forward. Here I go!

If I squint, I can see a light…

Things are getting better. Delays have been frustrating, but have done a service in really focusing my intent and some game plans that I won’t discuss till later.

1. Got new vid card, and while not exactly perfect, it will definitely work on things as I prototype. Thanks Andrzej.

2. Got webcam to work, although resolutions are still wonky. No thank you, Logitech for your lack of Mac support. Fppppppt in your specific direction.

3. Software is amazing. Lots of potential here, and am excited to test it out.

If all goes well, proof of concept happens this week! Crossing my fingers. Lots to do.
